Kia and Hyundai donate security bars to Cicero Police Department
Kia and Hyundai donated anti theft devices to the Cicero Police Department. The donation came about after an increase in motor vehicle thefts. Thieves targeted Kia and Hyundai’s that do not have a push button ignition.
“This past weekend we held an event which we gave away anti theft devices with steering wheel locks for any owners who had vehicles between 2015 and 2021,” said First Deputy Superintendent Luis Gutierrez from the Cicero Police Department.
“This event was well attended. We gave out approximately 50. We received this donation from Kia and Hyundai and we are going to continue to provide those anti theft devices to our residents in the coming weeks,” added Gutierrez.
The joint effort made by the motor companies along with the Cicero police department is to minimize thefts.
Any Cicero resident who is interested in obtaining one of these free anti theft devices need to contact the Cicero Police Department.
“The only thing that we need is to verify that they are a registered owner here in the Town of Cicero, they do have a Kia (and Hyundai) that’s between the years 2015 and 2021, doesn’t have a push button start, and that they do have a valid Town of Cicero City Sticker,” said Gutierrez.

Donación al Departamento de Policía de Cicero
Kia y Hyundai donaron dispositivos antirrobo al Departamento de Policía de Cicero. La donación se produjo después de un aumento en los robos de vehículos de motor. Los ladrones específicamente buscan carros Kia y Hyundai que no tienen un botón de encendido.
“El fin de semana pasado realizamos un evento en el que regalamos dispositivos antirrobo con bloqueo de volante para cualquier propietario que tuviera vehículos entre 2015 y 2021”, dijo el primer superintendente adjunto Luis Gutiérrez del Departamento de Policía de Cicero. “Este evento fue muy concurrido. Entregamos aproximadamente 50. Recibimos esta donación de Kia y Hyundai y continuaremos brindando esos dispositivos antirrobo a nuestros residentes en las próximas semanas”, agregó Gutiérrez.
El esfuerzo conjunto realizado por las empresas automovilísticas junto con el departamento de policía de Cicero es para minimizar los robos.
Cualquier residente de Cicero que esté interesado en obtener uno de estos dispositivos antirrobo gratuitos debe comunicarse con el Departamento de Policía de Cicero.
“Lo único que necesitamos es verificar que sea un propietario registrado aquí en el Municipio de Cicero, que tenga un Kia (o un Hyundai) que esté entre los años 2015 y 2021, que no tenga botón de arranque y que tienen una calcomanía válida del Municipio de Cicero”, dijo Gutiérrez.
