Cicero’s Annual Father and Daughter Dance draws more than 440 attendees

Cicero’s annual Father and Daughter Dance drew more than 440 attendees enjoying an evening of dance, entertainment, food and games.
This was the event’s 15th year, organized by Cicero Special Events Director Patti Salerno at the Cicero Community Center on Friday, February 10.
The Father and Daughter Dance is only one of the dozens of events hosted each year by the Town of Cicero for community families and kicks off a series of events that will carry the town through the year.
“We have a great staff and enjoy the full support of President Larry Dominick and the Cicero Board of Trustees,” Salerno said.

“This is our 15th Year and it is one of the biggest events for the Town of Cicero for our dads and daughters. It’s a group effort to make it happen. We have a great night every year and it just keeps growing and getting better.”
During the dance each young lady is able to choose a corsage that is provided by the Town of Cicero when they arrive. The fathers and daughters then get a formal photograph taken as a reminder of the important event. The evening features dancing, entertainment and a dinner.
Salerno said that the Special Events Department has a full schedule of events for families in Cicero including the Easter in the Park event which will be held in March in Cicero Community Park at 34th and Laramie. If the weather is bad the event will be brought inside to the Community Center.
Cicero will then celebrate Cinco de Mayo which will be followed by a Mother Son Dance. Memorial Day weekend also marks the start of the Summer in the Parks events which lead into a series of summer Festivals. And the Fall will feature traditional celebrations for Fiestas Patrias and Mexican Independence, and the Houby Festival.

El ‘Baile Anual de Padres e Hijas’ de Cicero, atrae a más de 440 asistentes en el ‘Día de San Valentín’

El tradicional ‘Baile Anual de Padres e Hijas’ organizado cada ‘Dia de San Valentín’ por el municipio de Cicero, atrajo esta vez a más de 440 asistentes que disfrutaron de una noche de mucho baile, de abundante entretenimiento, de una deliciosa comida y también de entretenidos juegos.

Este fue el decimoquinto año del baile de gala, organizado el pasado viernes 10 de febrero por la Directora de ‘Eventos Especiales de Cicero’ Patti Salerno, en el ‘Centro Comunitario de Cicero’.

Sin embargo, el baile de padres e hijas es solo uno de los muchos eventos organizados cada año por el municipio de Cicero para las familias de la comunidad y que da inicio a una serie de actividades que se llevan a cabo a lo largo del año.

“Contamos con un excelente personal y disfrutamos con el pleno apoyo del Presidente Larry Dominick y de la Junta de Síndicos de Cicero”, dijo Salerno.

“Este es nuestro 15vo. año y me enorgullece decir que es uno de los eventos más importantes tanto para la ciudad de Cicero, como para nuestros padres e hijas. Este es un gran esfuerzo en grupo para que esto resulte en una bonita realidad. Pasamos una gran noche y este show sigue creciendo y mejorando todos los años,” agregó la funcionaria.

Cuando llegaron al baile, cada jovencita pudo elegir entre uno de los muchos y elegantes ramilletes de hermosas florecitas, proporcionados por el municipio de Cicero. Luego, los padres y las hijas se tomaron una fotografía formal para recorder el acontecimiento tan especial. La noche incluye siempre el baile, con pleno entretenimiento y una frugal pero deliciosa cena.

Salerno dijo que el ‘Departamento de Eventos Especiales’ tiene un amplio y completo programa de actividades para todas las familias en Cicero, incluido el evento de Pascua llamado ‘Easter in the Park’, que se llevará a cabo en marzo en el parque comunitario ubicado en la calle 34th y la avenida Laramie. Pero si hace mal tiempo, los actos serán realizados en el interior del ‘Centro Comunitario’ o sea en la ‘Casa Comunal de Cicero’.

Posteriormente, Cicero celebrará el colorido ‘Cinco de Mayo’, al que seguirá el ‘Baile de Madres e Hijos’. El fin de semana del ‘Día de los Caídos’ o sea ‘Memorial Day”, también marca el comienzo de los eventos de ‘Verano en los Parques’ que conducen a una serie de festivales de verano. Y luego, el otoño contará con las celebraciones tradicionales de las ‘Fiestas Patrias e Independencia de México’ y también del también popular ‘Festival Houby’.
