“We are really grateful to have everybody that showed up here today. We are offering thai chi, sound therapy, B12 shots and of course health screenings,” said Director of Public Health Operations Vanessa Parrish.

“We have haircuts, nail trimmings so it’s a nice way for women to take the time to pamper themselves a little bit”.

Women were able to sign up for raffles and receive information from a variety of different community organizations.

“With the support of our town president we are able to host these events,” said Director Parrish

“For these types of events we like to offer more interactive type of services so everyone can take away something from this that’s a little bit more significant and more impactful”.

Women were able to receive medical services inside the gym and participate in the different classes if they wished.

“Our clinic is offering blood pressures screenings, height and weight, other vital signs, blood work which would include lipids and diabetes screeners,” said Medical Director Dr. Katherine Skurski.

“I think this is a really great opportunity to bring to light the importance of having all of the women and residents in our community come in and really start to take care of themselves”.

The Cicero Health Department invited an array of great vendors who provided information to new moms, senior citizens and everyone in between.

“The focus is getting everybody the preventative care they need,” added Director Dr. Skurski.

After the screenings today, the Cicero Health department calls every single patient to discuss the results.

La feria anual de salud de la mujer dio la bienvenida a cientos de mujeres el 29 de mayo de 2024 al Centro Comunitario Cicero. El evento de bienestar comenzó a la 1 de la tarde brindando una variedad de diferentes servicios a la comunidad.

“Estamos realmente agradecidos de tener a todos los que estuvieron aquí hoy. Ofrecemos thai chi, terapia de sonido, inyecciones de B12 y, por supuesto, exámenes de salud”, dijo la directora de Operaciones de Salud Pública, Vanessa Parrish.

“Tenemos cortes de pelo y arreglos de uñas, por lo que es una buena manera para que las mujeres se tomen el tiempo para mimarse un poco”.

Las mujeres pudieron inscribirse en rifas y recibir información de una variedad de diferentes organizaciones comunitarias.

“Con el apoyo del presidente de nuestro municipio podemos organizar estos eventos”, dijo la directora Parrish.

“Para este tipo de eventos nos gusta ofrecer tipos de servicios más interactivos para que todos puedan sacar algo de esto que sea un poco más significativo e impactante”.

Las mujeres pudieron recibir servicios médicos dentro del gimnasio y participar en las diferentes clases si así lo deseaban.

“Nuestra clínica ofrece exámenes de presión arterial, altura y peso, otros signos vitales, análisis de sangre que incluirían lípidos y exámenes de diabetes”, dijo la directora médica, la Dra. Katherine Skurski.

“Creo que esta es una gran oportunidad para sacar a la luz la importancia de que todas las mujeres y residentes de nuestra comunidad vengan y realmente comiencen a cuidarse a sí mismos”.

El Departamento de Salud de Cicero invitó a una variedad de excelentes proveedores que brindaron información a nuevas mamás, personas mayores y todos los demás.

“El objetivo es brindar a todos la atención preventiva que necesitan”, añadió la directora, la Dr. Skurski.

Después de los exámenes de hoy, el departamento de Salud de Cicero llama a cada paciente para discutir los resultados.
