Cicero honors Parent Patrol volunteers at luncheon for 15 Years of Service to town’s school children

Town President Larry Dominick and the Town of Cicero Board of Trustees Clerk Maria Punzo-Arias, Supervisor Joe Virruso, Assessor Emilio “Emo” Cundari, Collector Fran Reitz and Trustees Victor Garcia, Bob Porod, John Cava and Blanca Vargas, joined Parent Patrol Coordinator Ismael Vargas, and officials from the Town’s local school district to celebrate the 15th Year Anniversary of the Parent Patrols at a luncheon held on Thursday, May 23, 2024 at the Cicero Community Center.

“We are so proud of the Parent Patrols which help to keep our children safe and engages our families and parents duirectly in providing guidance and support to our children and they walk to and from school each day,” President Dominick said.

“It is inspiring to see how this program has grown with the support of the Town of Cicero Board of Trustees, the schools and its coordinator Ismael Vargas.”

President Dominick launched the Parent Patrols program which supports our school children as they go to and from school every day and are apart of the Town system to improve safety for all.

The Parent Patrol Program began with 10 Parent Patrols and now has over 200 Parent Patrols voluntarily giving their time to keep children safe for District 99 and District 201.

The event featured a special luncheon and presentations to Parent Patrol members.

Also attending were Police Chief Thomas Boyle, Deputy Supt. Luis Gutierrez, Fire Chief Jeff Penzkofer, Senior Center Director Diana Dominick, Morton High School District 201 Supt. Timothy Truesdale, District 99 School board president Tom Tomschin and Vice President Derek Dominick, and, District 99 Supt. Dr. Aldo Calderon.

El Presidente del Municipio, Larry Dominick, y la Secretaria de la Junta de Fideicomisarios del Municipio de Cicero, Maria Punzo-Arias, el Supervisor Joe Virruso, el Tasador Emilio “Emo” Cundari, la Recaudadora Fran Reitz y los Fideicomisarios Victor Garcia, Bob Porod, John Cava y Blanca Vargas, se unieron al Coordinador de las Patrullas de Padres, Ismael Vargas, y a funcionarios del distrito escolar local del Municipio para celebrar el 15º Aniversario de las Patrullas de Padres en un almuerzo realizado el jueves 23 de mayo de 2024 en el Centro Comunitario de Cicero.

“Estamos muy orgullosos de las Patrullas de Padres, que ayudan a mantener seguros a nuestros niños e involucran directamente a nuestras familias y padres en brindar orientación y apoyo a nuestros hijos mientras caminan hacia y desde la escuela cada día,” dijo el Presidente Dominick.

“Es inspirador ver cómo este programa ha crecido con el apoyo de la Junta de Fideicomisarios del Municipio de Cicero, las escuelas y su coordinador Ismael Vargas.”

El Presidente Dominick lanzó el programa de Patrullas de Padres, que apoya a nuestros niños de la escuela mientras van y vienen de la escuela cada día y son parte del sistema del Municipio para mejorar la seguridad de todos.

El Programa de Patrullas de Padres comenzó con 10 Patrullas de Padres y ahora cuenta con más de 200 Patrullas de Padres que voluntariamente dedican su tiempo para mantener a los niños seguros en el Distrito 99 y el Distrito 201.

El evento contó con un almuerzo especial y presentaciones a los miembros de las Patrullas de Padres.

También asistieron el Jefe de Policía Thomas Boyle, el Subsuperintendente Luis Gutiérrez, el Jefe de Bomberos Jeff Penzkofer, la Directora del Centro para Personas Mayores Diana Dominick, el Superintendente del Distrito 201 de la Escuela Secundaria Morton, Timothy Truesdale, el Presidente de la Junta Escolar del Distrito 99, Tom Tomschin y el Vicepresidente Derek Dominick, y el Superintendente del Distrito 99, el Dr. Aldo Calderón.
