The board of the Berwyn-Cicero Masonic Lodge No. 839 on Tuesday presented their annual ” 2024 Community Builders Award” to three individuals including the director of the Senior Center for service to the Community.

Lodge Chairman Jose Villareal, was joined by members Brigido Tan, James Hrejsa, Greg Capps, Rolando Hernandez, and Jojo Alamillo, made the presentation during the Cicero Town Board meeting to Senior Director Diana Dominick, Cook County Commissioner Frank Aguilar and Town Spokesman Ray Hanania.

“This is one of the many tributes we pay to the people who go up and beyond the call of duty for our communities,” Villareal said.

“We’re proud to preset this award to Mrs. Diana Dominick for the wonderful work she does for our senior community as director of the Senior Center, planning wonderful outings making it interesting for all of our senior citizens, in Cicero. She does it with the support of our Town President Larry Dominick, who is always there assisting its citizens, and with the support of the members of the Town of Cicero board.”

Villareal praised Aguilar for “fighting to bring the services our community needs and deserves as a member of the Cook County Board. Commissioner Aguilar is a strong representative of the people who fights for our rights and needs.”

 

Hanania was recognized for presenting the Town’s achievements “in a clear and effective manner,” and in confronting and clarifying the false claims made by activists and critics who are concerned mostly about politics rather than community services.

“I am honored to receive this award and I will continue to fight for the rights of our residents,” Aguilar said.

Mrs. Dominick was joined by 50 members of the Senior Center and several members of her staff during the award presentation.

“It is quite an honor to receive this award. Although I feel that I am only doing my job as a Senior Center Director, I am forever grateful to be recognized for the work our department does,” Mrs. Dominick said.

“Working with and helping seniors, has been one of my passions since I was young and I am truly appreciative of the fact that I can have a career I love and enjoy doing every day. … It would not have been possible without the support of our Town President Larry Dominick, who has inspired me and supported the Senior Center in the many improvements and ideas that we envision.”

Mrs. Dominick noted the activities and services provided to Seniors, “Including our trips, our daily activities at the Senior Center, our wonderful events at the Community Center and all the amazing handyman programs and home services that our seniors receive which has resulted in our community to be one of the top cities to offer seniors the widest range of services to seniors of any community in the Midwest.”

Mrs. Dominick said the award must be shared by the Senior Center team, acknowledging her staff: Isabella Aguilar and Princess Tejeda, all our wonderful volunteers and specially our Town President Larry Dominick who provides our foundation of progress, safety and prosperity.”

Hanania said that he is proud to serve at the pleasure of President Dominick and the Board of Trustees to ensure that Cicero is recognized for the actual work and services it provides.

La Junta de la Logia Masónica Berwyn-Cicero No. 839 presentó el martes su premio anual “Premio Constructores de la Comunidad 2024” a tres personas, incluyendo al director del Centro de Personas Mayores, por su servicio a la comunidad.

El presidente de la logia, José Villareal, acompañado por los miembros Brigido Tan, James Hrejsa, Greg Capps, Rolando Hernández y Jojo Alamillo, realizó la presentación durante la reunión de la Junta Municipal de Cicero a la Directora de Personas Mayores Diana Dominick, al Comisionado del Condado de Cook Frank Aguilar y al Portavoz del Pueblo Ray Hanania.

“Este es uno de los muchos tributos que rendimos a las personas que van más allá del deber por nuestras comunidades”, dijo Villareal.

“Estamos orgullosos de presentar este premio a la Sra. Diana Dominick por el maravilloso trabajo que hace para nuestra comunidad de personas mayores como directora del Centro de Personas Mayores, planificando salidas maravillosas haciéndolo interesante para todos nuestros ancianos en Cicero. Lo hace con el apoyo de nuestro Presidente Municipal Larry Dominick, quien siempre está allí para ayudar a sus ciudadanos, y con el apoyo de los miembros de la Junta del Pueblo de Cicero”.

Villareal elogió a Aguilar por “luchar por llevar los servicios que nuestra comunidad necesita y merece como miembro de la Junta del Condado de Cook. El Comisionado Aguilar es un fuerte representante de la gente que lucha por nuestros derechos y necesidades”.

Hanania fue reconocido por presentar los logros del pueblo “de manera clara y efectiva”, y por enfrentar y aclarar las falsas afirmaciones hechas por activistas y críticos preocupados principalmente por la política en lugar de los servicios comunitarios.

“Es un honor recibir este premio y seguiré luchando por los derechos de nuestros residentes”, dijo Aguilar.

La Sra. Dominick estuvo acompañada por 50 miembros del Centro de Personas Mayores y varios miembros de su personal durante la presentación del premio.

“Es un gran honor recibir este premio. Aunque siento que solo estoy haciendo mi trabajo como Directora del Centro de Personas Mayores, estoy eternamente agradecida por ser reconocida por el trabajo que hace nuestro departamento”, dijo la Sra. Dominick.

“Trabajar con y ayudar a los ancianos ha sido una de mis pasiones desde que era joven y realmente aprecio el hecho de poder tener una carrera que amo y disfruto hacer todos los días… No habría sido posible sin el apoyo de nuestro Presidente Municipal Larry Dominick, quien me ha inspirado y apoyado al Centro de Personas Mayores en las muchas mejoras e ideas que visualizamos”.

La Sra. Dominick mencionó las actividades y servicios proporcionados a las Personas Mayores, “Incluyendo nuestros viajes, nuestras actividades diarias en el Centro de Personas Mayores, nuestros maravillosos eventos en el Centro Comunitario y todos los increíbles programas de mantenimiento y servicios domiciliarios que reciben nuestros ancianos, lo que ha resultado en que nuestra comunidad sea una de las principales ciudades para ofrecer a los ancianos la más amplia gama de servicios de cualquier comunidad en el Medio Oeste”.

La Sra.
