Houby’s Golden Anniversary Announced

Houby is turning 50 and the Office of Special Events needs your help! The annual Houby International Festival runs from Oct. 4-7 this year, a joint celebration with the Town of Cicero and City of Berwyn. The celebration ends with the  Houby Day Parade running down Cermak Avenue between both towns. What a wonderful September month we had in Cicero. The weather was mostly pleasant. School is in full swing. And Mexican Independence Day was just as fantastic as always! Houby Day Honors Military At Parade

Serving as the grand marshal of the parade, the U.S. military veterans from Cicero and Berwyn were honored as part of the 47th Annual Houby Day Festival held the first weekend of October. The event focuses on the contributions of the early settlers of the two communities who are of Czech and Slovak descent.
