Block Party Permits
Planning a block party? Here’s what you need to know…
Block Parties are allowed from Memorial Day through Labor Day.
PERMITS WILL BE LIMITED TO TWO PER SATURDAY OR SUNDAY. HOURS ARE 12:00 NOON TO 7:00 P.M.
Seventy-five percent of the residents on the block need to sign a petition to have a block party. Petitions need to be submitted to the Town Clerk’s Office 30 days prior to the party. A nonrefundable $250.00 fee, via cash, cashier’s check, certified check or money order, to the Town to pay for security and processing the application.
The Organizer must be at least 21 years of age, agree to remain at the Block Party for the duration of the event, and shall comply with all applicable federal, state, and local laws, statutes, ordinances, rules, regulations, and orders.
The Organizer agrees to clean up and restore all public property to the condition that it was in prior to the event, normal wear and tear excepted.
No farm animals shall be allowed at the event.
No person shall stop, stand, or park a vehicle in an area reserved for a Block Party when signs are posted prohibiting the same.
No alcohol consumption shall be allowed on any public property
Any amplified music (live bands and/or reproduced sound) shall be at a volume that is no louder than is necessary for the convenient hearing of the persons who are in attendance. It should not unreasonably disturb the peace, quiet and comfort of neighboring blocks not involved.

Garage Sale Permits
Please remember a permit is required to host a garage sale. Permits are available in the Clerk’s Office and are good for a 2-day sale. However, you may only have a garage sale once a year.
NEW REGULATION: Permits must now be posted at the entrance door to the garage sale.
Advertising for the sale may be placed only in the front yard area of the premises. Signs are NOT allowed on public property, streetlights or telephone poles. The Code Enforcement Department will make routine inspections for compliance with Town Ordinances. Violators may be fined up to $100.00.
Apply for your US Passport
You can apply for your U.S. Passport Book (Valid for Travel by air, sea or land) or the U.S. Passport Card (Not for travel by air) from the Clerk’s Office located at the Cicero Town Hall, 4949 West Cermak, 1st Floor between 1 p.m. and 5 p.m., (depending upon agent availability) Monday thru Wednesday. You can also begin the application process via the U.S. Department of State’s passport website at travel.state.gov.
The Passport Card is valid for land and sea crossings between the United States and Canada, Mexico, Bermuda and the Caribbean and provides a less expensive, smaller and more convenient alternative for those who travel to these destinations. For more information, please call 656-3600, ext 227

Age 16 and over:
$130 fee (payable to the U.S. Department of State)
$35 fee (payable to the Town of Cicero)
Age 15 and under:
$100 fee (payable to the U.S. Department of State)
$35 fee (payable to the Town of Cicero)
