Dear Residents: Para leer este artículo en español, haga clic aquí.
I am proud of how the people of the Town of Cicero have come together to help each other and overcome the threat of the Coronavirus.
I am saddened to announce that the Emergency Operations Center I set up has confirmed that Cicero has its first case of the Coronavirus. All precautions to prevent its spread are being taken.
The Coronavirus Pandemic has forced us all to watch how we interact with others. We must take precautions. Stay home unless it is absolutely necessary to go out. Wash your hands, cover your face when coughing or sneezing. If you feel ill, contact your doctor.
The Town of Cicero continues to provide services, cleaning streets, providing police, fire and health department services, as well as serving our senior citizens. Seven grocery stores have set up special senior-only shopping hours.
Also, don’t forget to complete the 2020 Census form, something you can do online. The Census determines how much money Cicero receives from the Federal Government to pay for important services. The more people who complete the Census, the more funds and grants Cicero receives, easing the burden on everyone.
You should have received your form from the Census. It provides a Census ID you can use to complete the form online at www.My2020Census.gov. It must be done before April 1.
Finally, if the Town has not contacted you, or you have not called to request service, no one should be knocking at your door. Be vigilant. If you have a concern, call the Cicero Police at 708-652-2130 for non-emergencies and 9-1-1 for emergencies.
Check our Facebook Page and Website for important updates.
Thank you, be safe, and God Bless.
