Three members of the Cicero Fire Department received promotions during the Nov. 12 board meeting.
Lt. Harry Rutz, a 15-year veteran of the department, became Asst. Fire Chief for Fire Prevention. Engineer Josh Hill, a 12-year veteran, will serve as Lieutenant. Firefighter Tim Medina, a five-year veteran, is now Engineer.
Rutz fills the vacancy created when the previous assistant fire chief retired, while Hill will fill Rutz’s lieutenant spot. Medina fulfills a job that was created separately.
Town President Larry Dominick, Clerk Maria Punzo-Arias, Supervisor Joe Virruso, Assessor Emilio “Emo” Cundari, Collector Fran Reitz, and trustees Victor Garcia, Larry Banks, Bob Porod and John Cava joined Fire Chief Dominick Buscemi in congratulating the three men during the board meeting.
“Our town remains safe because of the hard work of our first responders,” Dominick said. “Thank you to these three men for working hard to protect our town. Their hard work continues to be recognized with these promotions.”
