Summer in the Park Ends As Autumn Begins

Cicero’s Summer in the Park festival closed in traditional fashion as hundreds of Cicero families and kids gathered at Cicero Community Park for the End of Summer event held on August 30.

Children attending the event witnessed stunt motorcycling, enjoyed rides, face painting, food, live music and finished their night with a fireworks show.

“This year’s weather kept us from having a larger Summer in the Park than before,” said Jeffry Pesek, organizer for the festival. “But we still had large crowds come out and enjoy everything we had to offer.”

Town President Larry Dominick has called Summer in the Park a cornerstone program to help keep kids safe during the summer months.

“Whenever our children are dancing, playing, watching motorcycles perform stunts it means they are not getting into trouble with the wrong group of people,” Dominick said. “That is important if we want to keep our Town safe and make sure our kids stay in school and get good jobs afterwards.”
