While it wasn’t precisely Wrigley Field or Guaranteed Rate Park, it was just as festive on August 14 at the Annual Summer Picnic. This year’s theme was baseball, featuring residents wearing their favorite team’s colors while enjoying food, live music, dancing, and more.
This year’s musicians were The Sweet Reminders, a duo featuring Nancy Baumet and Dia Madden. They performed music from the 40s, 50s, and 60s. Town President Larry Dominick and the Town Board of Trustees, the Senior Center and Senior Services all sponsored the picnic.
By the end of the day, residents were on the dance floor, swinging to the hits of yesteryear and catching up with friends from the neighborhood.
“Our senior events are just a small way we like to show how much we appreciate them in our town,” Dominick said. “They deserve to have the best a town can provide, and I don’t know of anyone who does that more than Cicero.”
