Seniors Get Into German Spirit With Octoberfest

There may not have been a keg to tap, but there were plenty of Cicero residents ready to roll out the barrel for this year’s Senior Octoberfest. The annual autumn dinner and dance brought in senior residents for a hearty lunch, lively music, dancing, and raffles at the end of the event.

“I don’t know of a better way to celebrate October with our own version of Octoberfest,” said Town President Larry Dominick. The event is held outside of the traditional Oktoberfest, prompting the spelling difference between the two events. This is one of several senior events the town holds each year, courtesy of Dominick, the Senior Center and Director Sue Banks, and the Senior Services Department run by Ryan Chlada.
