Fall is not truly here until the Senior Oktoberfest Dinner/Dance has arrived. It’s an annual tradition, held on October 7 this year, that sees Cicero’s senior resident pack the Town’s Community Center gymnasium decked out in orange and brown, dine on bratwurst and sauerkraut, and dance the afternoon away in celebration of all things German. Cicero Town Officials joined the hundreds of residents who were treated to the enjoyable afternoon, with Town Supervisor Joe Virruso speaking to the crowd during events emceed by former Assessor John Kociolko.
Cicero Town President Larry Dominick thanked Sue Banks and Ryan Chlada of the Town’s Senior Activities and Senior Services departments, respectively, as well as Rose Porod, executive director of the Community Center, for their hard work for this year’s Oktoberfest.
“I have made it one of my top priorities in taking care of our senior residents,” Dominick said. “This is just one of the many events we hold throughout the year to make sure they can get together, have a good meal, and enjoy some entertainment that would take them back. I just love hearing from so many of them about how much fun they have at our Oktoberfest dinner as well as the many others.”
