Santa Makes 10th Visit To CYC Holiday Party

Santa and Mrs. Claus marked a decade of coming to the Cicero Youth Commission’s Holiday Party on December 3. They were greeted by children excitedly waiting with their families packed into the Community Center’s hallways for a chance to deliver their wish lists and have a picture taken with Christmas’ famous Kringles.

After each family had its photo taken with Santa and Mrs. Claus, the children received gifts courtesy of Town President Larry Dominick. They were also able to color, decorate stockings, enjoy festive music and much more.

“Anyone who has not been to this event has missed out on the real joy you get watching the kids meet Santa and receive a small gift to help them keep warm throughout winter,” Dominick said.

The holiday party saw a record number of Cicero families arrive, a testament to the fun kids have at the CYC event.

“This is one small way the town works to help our residents have a Merry Christmas” said CYC Executive Director Wayne Porod. “We want to make sure every child has a chance to receive something, anything, that will put a smile on their face during Christmastime.”

Porod also thanked the staff at the Community Center for helping set up the space and managing the large crowds of children hoping to get a chance to meet Santa.
