Residents now have a new destination for coffee, breakfast, and convenience as Town officials joined community members and business leaders to celebrate the grand opening and ribbon cutting of a new Dunkin’ location in Cicero.

The new freestanding restaurant, located at 5820 W. Ogden Avenue, Cicero, IL, officially opened on Tuesday, June 23, 2026 at 11:00 AM, bringing expanded amenities including a drive-thru, larger dining area, additional parking, and improved customer flow. The location replaces a previous in-line store inside a nearby gas station and represents a major upgrade in service and accessibility for local residents.

Ismael Vargas welcomed guests and highlighted the transformation of the property, noting that the site had been vacant just months earlier before becoming a fully developed commercial space. He also recognized Town departments and staff who supported the project from planning through completion.

The celebration brought together Town leadership, including President Larry Dominick, First Lady Diana Dominick, and Trustee Blanca Vargas, along with representatives from Dunkin’ and local employees.

Town President Larry Dominick congratulated owner John Luxem and emphasized the importance of continued private investment along Cicero’s commercial corridors.

“Every new business that opens in Cicero is another sign of confidence in our community. This Dunkin’ represents growth, jobs, and convenience for our residents, and it shows that Cicero continues to move forward with strong partnerships and strong neighborhoods,” Dominick said.

He also highlighted upcoming infrastructure improvements, noting that 31st Street from Austin Boulevard to Cicero Avenue is scheduled for repaving after years of coordination with rail and environmental agencies, which will further improve access for residents and businesses in the area.

Owner John Luxem, who operates three Dunkin’ locations in Cicero—including Roosevelt Road, 32nd Street and Cicero Avenue, and this new Ogden Avenue location—shared that the project has been years in the making.

He emphasized that the new store reflects both growth and gratitude toward the community that has supported his business for over two decades.

“We’ve been in Cicero for 20 years, and the community has always supported us. We’re excited to be here for another 20 years,” Luxem said.

He also credited his team, including General Manager Eric Casas, shift leaders, and staff members, for making the opening possible and ensuring strong day-to-day operations.

“This is a people business. I may have built the store, but they’re the ones making it happen every day,” he added.

Trustee Vargas praised the new location as a welcome addition for residents, highlighting the convenience of the drive-thru and expanded service options.

First Lady Dominick also congratulated the owners on behalf of the Town, thanking them for continuing to invest in Cicero and strengthening the local economy.

Town officials also recognized the coordinated efforts of multiple departments—including Building, Health, Fire, Police, and Public Works—for helping bring the project to completion.

Following the ribbon cutting, the owner noted that customers can expect fast, friendly service, a modern dining experience, and an expanded menu featuring Refreshers, iced beverages, breakfast sandwiches, and classic baked goods.

General Manager Eric Casas shared excitement about welcoming both new customers and longtime regulars, noting that the larger dining room creates a comfortable space for families and neighbors to gather.

El nuevo restaurante independiente, ubicado en 5820 W. Ogden Avenue, Cicero, IL, abrió oficialmente el martes 23 de junio de 2026 a las 11:00 AM, ofreciendo servicios ampliados que incluyen servicio de autos, un comedor más grande, estacionamiento adicional y mejor flujo de atención al cliente. La ubicación reemplaza una tienda anterior dentro de una gasolinera cercana y representa una importante mejora en el servicio y la accesibilidad para los residentes locales.

Ismael Vargas dio la bienvenida a los invitados y destacó la transformación del terreno, señalando que el sitio estaba vacío hace solo unos meses antes de convertirse en un espacio comercial completamente desarrollado.
