When a major water main break led to a boil order affecting parts of Cicero, the Town sprang into action to ensure residents had access to safe drinking water.
Town employees, volunteers, and Public Works staff came together at Cicero Community Park to distribute free cases of bottled water to impacted families. For residents unable to travel, the Town also arranged home deliveries so no one would be left without this essential resource.
The Cicero Police Department also played a vital role throughout the distribution effort by assisting with traffic control, helping direct vehicles through the distribution site, and ensuring residents could safely and efficiently receive bottled water. Their presence helped keep the operation running smoothly while Town employees and volunteers focused on serving the community.
Town President Larry Dominick praised the quick response and dedication of Town staff. “When our residents need us, we respond. This wasn’t just about repairing a broken water main—it was about making sure every family had access to safe drinking water while that work was being completed. I’m proud of our Public Works crews, our employees, and everyone who came together so quickly to help our community. That’s what serving the people of Cicero is all about.”
First Lady and Senior Center Director Diana Dominick was on the front lines helping distribute water throughout the day. “Watching our staff and volunteers come together to help our neighbors has been incredible. Whether someone drove through the park or needed water delivered to their home, we wanted every resident to know they were not alone. Caring for our community means showing up when people need us most, and that’s exactly what we did.”

Vecinos Ayudando a Vecinos en un Momento de Necesidad
Cuando una importante ruptura en una tubería principal de agua provocó una orden de hervir el agua en partes del Municipio de Cicero, el Municipio actuó de inmediato para garantizar que los residentes tuvieran acceso a agua potable segura.
Empleados del Municipio, voluntarios y el personal de obras públicas se unieron en el Parque Comunitario de Cicero para distribuir gratuitamente cajas de agua embotellada a las familias afectadas. Además, para quienes no podían trasladarse, el Municipio organizó entregas a domicilio para asegurar que nadie se quedara sin este recurso esencial.
El Departamento de Policía de Cicero también desempeñó un papel fundamental durante la distribución de agua, brindando apoyo con el control del tráfico, dirigiendo los vehículos en el lugar de distribución y ayudando a que los residentes recibieran el agua de manera segura y eficiente. Su presencia permitió que la operación se desarrollara sin contratiempos mientras los empleados y voluntarios del Municipio atendían a la comunidad.
El Presidente del Municipio, Larry Dominick, destacó la rápida respuesta y el compromiso del personal municipal.
“Cuando nuestros residentes nos necesitan, respondemos. Esto no se trató únicamente de reparar una tubería principal de agua; también se trató de garantizar que cada familia tuviera acceso a agua potable segura mientras se realizaban los trabajos. Me siento muy orgulloso de nuestras cuadrillas de Obras Públicas, de nuestros empleados y de todos los que se unieron rápidamente para ayudar a nuestra comunidad. De eso se trata servir al pueblo de Cicero.”
La Primera Dama y Directora del Centro para Adultos Mayores, Diana Dominick, estuvo presente durante toda la distribución de agua ayudando personalmente a los residentes. “Ha sido increíble ver cómo nuestro personal y nuestros voluntarios se unieron para ayudar a nuestros vecinos. Ya fuera que las personas llegaran al parque o necesitaran que el agua se les llevara hasta su hogar, queríamos que todos supieran que no estaban solos. Cuidar de nuestra comunidad significa estar presentes cuando más nos necesitan, y eso fue exactamente lo que hicimos.”
