The Town of Cicero proudly recognized more than two dozen residents who recently achieved one of life’s most meaningful milestones—becoming citizens of the United States—during the July 14 Town Board Meeting.

The special recognition celebrated graduates of the Town of Cicero’s Citizenship Program, which provides residents with the education, guidance and support needed to successfully complete the naturalization process. Under the leadership of Citizenship Program Director Arcadio Delgado, the program continues to help residents fulfill their dream of becoming United States citizens while strengthening the entire community.

Delgado thanked Town President Larry Dominick and the Board of Trustees for their continued support of the program and for providing residents with this important opportunity.

“First, I would like to thank Mr. President and the Board of Trustees for giving me the opportunity to serve our community residents and assist them in becoming citizens of the United States,” Delgado said. “It is truly a pleasure to work in this area because, as I understand it, this is the only township that offers this opportunity for residents to become United States citizens.”

During the ceremony, newly naturalized citizen Agustina Stone shared her gratitude for the program and recognized Delgado for his dedication in helping residents reach this important achievement.

“I recently became a United States citizen, and I am very happy,” Stone said. “I want to thank Mr. Arcadio for all of his hard work encouraging people to become citizens. It is very important for all of us to have this opportunity.”

Following the remarks, Town President Larry Dominick and the Board of Trustees presented Certificates of Recognition to the newest citizens, honoring their commitment, perseverance and dedication throughout their journey toward citizenship.

Those recognized included Arecely Escalera, Teresa Morales, Sandra Figueroa Iman, Cristina Corral, Maria Rodriguez, Agustina Stone, Karina Ayala, Emilia Palomares, Rodrigo Garcia, Catalina Rios, Miguel Dominguez, Alba Luz Castellanos, Sandra Guzman-Guzman, Noraima Cabrera, Mauricio Leyva, Magdalena Leyva, Tomas Reyes Hernandez, Alicia M. Domingez, Luis Castaneda Salgado, Ana C. Orozco and Maria Teresa Hernandez.

“This ceremony represents much more than receiving a certificate—it represents years of sacrifice, perseverance and hope,” said Town President Larry Dominick. “We are proud to help our residents achieve the American dream by becoming United States citizens. When our residents succeed, our entire community grows stronger. Congratulations to each of our new citizens on this remarkable accomplishment, and thank you to Arcadio Delgado for his outstanding commitment to helping families reach this life-changing milestone.”

The Town of Cicero remains committed to creating opportunities that empower residents through education, civic engagement and community support. Through the Citizenship Program, the Town continues to provide resources that help individuals and families achieve their goals and fully participate in the opportunities and responsibilities of American citizenship.

Más de Dos Docenas de Residentes de Cicero Fueron Reconocidos Como Nuevos Ciudadanos Estadounidenses Durante la Reunión de la Junta Municipal

El Municipio de Cicero reconoció con orgullo a más de dos docenas de residentes que recientemente alcanzaron uno de los logros más importantes de sus vidas: convertirse en ciudadanos de los Estados Unidos, durante la reunión de la Junta Municipal celebrada el 14 de julio.

El reconocimiento especial celebró a los graduados del Programa de Ciudadanía del Municipio de Cicero, el cual brinda a los residentes la educación, orientación y apoyo necesarios para completar con éxito el proceso de naturalización. Bajo el liderazgo del director del Programa de Ciudadanía, Arcadio Delgado, el programa continúa ayudando a los residentes a cumplir su sueño de convertirse en ciudadanos de los Estados Unidos, al mismo tiempo que fortalece a toda la comunidad.

Delgado agradeció al presidente del Municipio, Larry Dominick, y a la Junta Directiva por su continuo apoyo al programa y por brindarles a los residentes esta importante oportunidad.

“Primero, quiero agradecer al señor Presidente y a la Junta Directiva por darme la oportunidad de servir a los residentes de nuestra comunidad y ayudarlos a convertirse en ciudadanos de los Estados Unidos”, expresó Delgado. “Es un verdadero placer trabajar en esta área porque, hasta donde tengo entendido, este es el único municipio que ofrece esta oportunidad para que sus residentes se conviertan en ciudadanos de los Estados Unidos.”

Durante la ceremonia, la nueva ciudadana naturalizada Agustina Stone compartió un emotivo mensaje de agradecimiento y reconoció a Delgado por su dedicación para ayudar a los residentes a alcanzar este importante logro.

“Recientemente me convertí en ciudadana de los Estados Unidos y estoy muy feliz”, dijo Stone. “Quiero agradecer al señor Arcadio por todo su esfuerzo alentando a las personas a convertirse en ciudadanos. Es muy importante que todos tengamos esta oportunidad.”

Después de los comentarios, el presidente del Municipio, Larry Dominick, y la Junta Directiva entregaron Certificados de Reconocimiento a los nuevos ciudadanos, honrando su compromiso, perseverancia y dedicación durante su camino hacia la ciudadanía.
