Filing a Complaint Against a Member of the Cicero Police Department
The Town of Cicero is committed to transparency, accountability, and maintaining the highest standards of professional conduct within its Police Department. If you believe that you have been mistreated, treated unfairly, or subjected to misconduct by any member of the Cicero Police Department, you have the right to file a formal complaint.
Who Can File a Complaint?
Any person who witnesses or experiences inappropriate behavior, misconduct, or unprofessional conduct by a department member may file a complaint. This includes residents, visitors, or any individual who interacts with Cicero Police personnel.
How to File a Complaint
Complaints may be submitted in any of the following ways:
In Person: Visit the Office of Professional Standards (OPS) during regular business hours.
By Phone: Call the OPS directly at (708) 656-3600 ext. 482
What to Expect
Once a complaint is submitted, the Office of Professional Standards will conduct a thorough and impartial investigation. All complaints are taken seriously and will be reviewed in accordance with departmental policies and procedures.
Any person who believes they have been mistreated in any manner or subjected to misconduct by any member of the Cicero Police Department is encouraged to file a complaint with the Office of Professional Standards.
