Town President Larry Dominick kicked off his annual reading program for students at Cicero’s District 99 on Wednesday, October 21, with a presentation of the importance of reading plus what can they can win if they read the required number of books.
As students read over Winter and Spring breaks, and throughout the school year, they log their books on a special form. Towards the end of the year, students who have completed the program turn in their logs and are eligible for prizes, including one of 10 bicycles donated by Dominick for the top readers.
“Education is important for our children to have bright futures,” Dominick said. “And reading is one of the most important aspects. By encouraging kids to read, we are giving them the desire to better themselves as they continue to grow up.”
