The Easter Bunny and his wife hopped into Cicero on March 19 to the delight of throngs of children gathered at the Cicero Community Center. As part of the 24th Annual Easter Bunny Celebration, the festive characters arrived for a day filled with photos and fun for the Cicero youth.
Hosted by the Cicero Youth Commission, the Easter Bunny Celebration gives children a chance to get their photo taken with the Easter Bunny and Mrs. Bunny while also enjoying face painting, music, storytime and craft projects. Each child also goes home with a gift, compliments of CYC and Town President Larry Dominick.
“We love this time of year, with the Easter Bunny, the springtime weather and, of course, the Easter holiday,” said Wayne Porod, CYC director. Despite Easter falling on one of the earliest dates possible, the weather turned out warmer than last year, giving children a chance to enjoy everything Easter has to offer in the town, especially the following week, when they gathered outside for the Easter in the Park celebration.
