Town President Larry Dominick welcomes you to the Town of Cicero’s Community Development Block Grant Disaster Recovery (CDBG/DR) Website. This website will be your one-stop spot for all information regarding the Town’s CDBG-DR Program, and will be updated regularly as information becomes available or a minimum of once per quarter.
In January of 2025, the Town of Cicero was informed we will be receiving $96,004,000.00 in CDBG-DR funds in order to respond to the natural disasters we experienced in July of 2023.
As the only federal disaster recovery assistance to primarily benefit low- and moderate-income households and communities, CDBG-DR funding can be used for a variety of eligible activities.
The Town of Cicero’s staff are currently going through training for regulatory and statutory requirements of the funds, as well as eligible uses.
The planning stage will include:
- A needs assessment,
- A duplication of benefits assessment,
- Consultation with agencies, other units of local government, and the public,
- Development of program specific policies and procedures, and
- A public hearing.
As more information becomes available, it will be included on this web page, as well as through social media, and other means of communication.
