Costumed Characters Fill Community Center for CYC Halloween Bash

Elsa joined Ant Man and Batman as a host of characters gathered together at the Cicero Community Center on October 29 for the Cicero Youth Commission’s annual Halloween Party. Kids dressed up in their costumed best for the night as they enjoyed a variety of games, face paintings, music and dancing, prizes and other spooky fun.

“Every year we look to provide a safe and fun way for the younger kids to celebrate Halloween,” said Wayne Porod, CYC director. “This event, hosted by CYC and Town President Larry Dominick, has continued to grow with more and more families looking to have a little fun outside of the traditional trick-or-treating.”

Dominick praised CYC for continuing his efforts to provide a safe and fun space for children in the Town. The next holiday gathering will be on December 5 when Santa and Mrs. Claus comes to visit for the annual CYC Holiday Party.

“The holiday party is our largest event. Families are lined up very early to make sure their children have a chance to meet Santa,” Porod said. The Clauses arrive at 11am and are typically greeted by a line of children that stretches throughout the Community Center and outside.
