Graffiti Removal

We remove various types of graffiti, including paint, chemicals, and organic materials, from properties such as houses, sidewalks, garages, fences, and more. Graffiti will be removed as soon as possible, weather permitting.

If you observe any suspicious activity, please report it to the police. Always notify the Cicero Police Department about graffiti or any property damage.

Tree Trimming & Planting

If you believe a tree located on the parkway (trees that are located on the parkway are considered town trees) requires trimming or removal, please contact our office at 708-652-2490. Please note that only trees that are dead or pose a potential safety hazard will be considered for removal.

Street Sign Department

If you notice a downed street sign, please contact our office at 708-652-2490. We will arrange for the sign to be repaired or replaced as soon as possible.

Recycling Program

The Town of Cicero launched its recycling program twelve years ago. In 1993, Cicero became an active member of the West Central Municipal Conference (WCMC). During this period, the town experienced significant ethnic and demographic changes, which presented unique challenges for implementing a comprehensive recycling program. In response, Town officials and the Department of Public Works introduced the Blue Bag Program. This program provides residents with blue bags for recyclables, free of charge.

Over the years, the Blue Bag Program has proven to be both effective and cost-efficient, primarily due to its simplicity and ease of use for our residents.

How to use Blue Bags

We kindly ask our residents to use the provided blue bags for recycling purposes only. Acceptable items include:

• Aluminum

• Paper

• Plastic

For glass, please place it in cardboard boxes to prevent injury to our garbage workers. These glass boxes should be placed separately from regular trash cans.

Additionally, we have a recycling bin conveniently located at the corner of 25th Street and 50th Avenue. Feel free to drop off any recyclables there.
