The Housing Department serves as the central resource for housing and community development in Cicero. We manage the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program, which provides federal funding from HUD to support neighborhood revitalization, housing preservation, and economic growth, with a strong focus on low to moderate income residents.
Each year, we outline our goals through the Five Year Consolidated Plan and Annual Action Plans, track our progress in the CAPER report, and ensure public transparency through program updates and opportunities for citizen participation. Our department also administers a range of housing programs, including emergency repairs, weatherization and energy efficiency upgrades, home improvement grants, and accessibility enhancements for residents with disabilities.
Whether you are seeking assistance with housing repairs, interested in understanding income eligibility, or looking to participate in public funding opportunities, we are here to help guide, support, and empower our community.
