The 708 Mental Health Board is dedicated to supporting the mental health and wellness of Cicero residents. We work to ensure that individuals and families have access to quality care, timely resources, and supportive services throughout the community through the Mental Health, Behavior Health, and Developmental Disabilities (405 ILCS20/) Commnity Mental Health Act of Illinois.

What We Do
  • Assess local mental health trends and identify service gaps to understand community needs

  • Develop strategic and financial plans to support behavioral health services

  • Release public funding opportunities and select service providers through a proposal process

  • Connect residents with trusted local providers for counseling, therapy, crisis response, and other essential services

  • Monitor the performance and financial accountability of funded agencies

  • Advocate for mental wellness through education, outreach, and community engagement

  • Promote awareness of local mental health and developmental disability resources

  • Work to reduce stigma and ensure mental health is recognized as a vital part of overall well-being
