The Town of Cicero celebrated an important milestone in its Police Department on October 14, promoting five dedicated officers to new leadership positions — four to the rank of Sergeant and one to the rank of Police Commander.

The ceremony, held at Town Hall, brought together family members, colleagues, and town officials, including Town President Larry Dominick, the Board of Trustees, and the Board of Fire and Police Commission. Each officer took an oath to uphold the Constitutions of the United States and Illinois, as well as the ordinances of Cook County and the Town of Cicero, pledging to serve with integrity and dedication.

“This is an important moment in these gentlemen’s careers,” said Superintendent of Police Tom Boyle. “It often takes years of commitment and service to reach this point, and today we recognize their hard work and leadership.”

After the oath, family members joined the newly promoted officers to pin on their new badges — a proud and emotional moment for all in attendance.

Town President Dominick praised the officers for their service and reaffirmed his commitment to supporting Cicero’s first responders. “I know how hard you all work, and I’m always 100% behind you,” Dominick said. “You can’t have good workers without good leadership, and these promotions are a reflection of the strength and dedication within our department.”

The ceremony concluded with applause and congratulations from town officials and community members, honoring the officers’ continued dedication to keeping Cicero safe.

Cicero Asciende a Cinco Oficiales a Puestos de Liderazgo en el Departamento de Policía

El Municipio de Cicero celebró un importante logro en su Departamento de Policía el 14 de Octubre , al promover a cinco oficiales dedicados a nuevos puestos de liderazgo: cuatro al rango de Sargento y uno al rango de Comandante de Policía.

La ceremonia, realizada en el Ayuntamiento, reunió a familiares, colegas y funcionarios municipales, incluyendo al Presidente Municipal Larry Dominick, la Junta Directiva y la Junta de Bomberos y de la Comisión de Policía. Cada oficial juró cumplir con las Constituciones de los Estados Unidos y de Illinois, así como con las ordenanzas del Condado de Cook y del Municipio de Cicero, comprometiéndose a servir con integridad y dedicación.
