The spirit of patriotism and community was on full display July 19 as military families from the Town of Cicero came together for a heartfelt BBQ celebration at the Cicero Community Park. Hosted by Town President Larry Dominick and the Board of Trustees in partnership with Military Families of Cicero, the event served as a warm thank-you to the men and women who have served—and continue to serve—our country.

Even with the rain, the smell of grilled favorites in the air, families enjoyed an afternoon filled with delicious food, music, and fellowship. Children played freely while veterans and active-duty service members shared stories and laughter with neighbors and town leaders.

President Dominick, a longtime supporter of veterans and military families, expressed his gratitude during the event:

“Cicero is proud to be home to so many brave service members and their families. Today is about honoring their sacrifice, recognizing their strength, and reminding them that their community stands with them—always.”

The BBQ was part of the town’s ongoing commitment to supporting veterans through programs, events, and resources.

As flags waved and burgers sizzled, the gathering served as more than just a cook

out—it was a celebration of service, unity, and the strong bonds that make Cicero a proud and patriotic community.

Familias Militares de Cicero Organizan Conmovedora Parrillada con el Presidente Municipal Larry Dominick

El espíritu de patriotismo y comunidad se hizo sentir el 19 de julio, cuando las familias militares del Municipio de Cicero se reunieron para una emotiva celebración con parrillada en el Parque Comunitario de Cicero. El evento fue organizado por el Presidente Municipal Larry Dominick y la Junta de Síndicos en colaboración con Familias Militares de Cicero, como un cálido agradecimiento a los hombres y mujeres que han servido —y continúan sirviendo— a nuestro país.

A pesar de la lluvia, el aroma de los platillos asados llenaba el aire mientras las familias disfrutaban de una tarde con deliciosa comida, música y convivencia. Los niños jugaron libremente mientras los veteranos y miembros en servicio activo compartían historias y risas con vecinos y líderes del municipio.

El Presidente Dominick, quien ha sido un firme defensor de los veteranos y sus familias, expresó su agradecimiento durante el evento:

“Cicero se enorgullece de ser hogar de tantos valientes miembros del servicio y sus familias. Hoy se trata de honrar su sacrificio, reconocer su fortaleza y recordarles que su comunidad siempre está con ellos.”

La parrillada fue parte del compromiso continuo del municipio de apoyar a los veteranos a través de programas, eventos y recursos.

Con banderas ondeando y hamburguesas en la parrilla, esta reunión fue mucho más que una comida al aire libre: fue una celebración del servicio, la unidad y los lazos fuertes que hacen de Cicero una comunidad orgullosa y patriótica.
