Cicero hosts annual Prayer Day July 14
The Town of Cicero and the Cicero Clergy Committee hosted the annual Cicero Prayer Day on Thursday July 14 at the Cicero Community Park, 34th and Laramie.
More than 400 people attended and joined in prayers and support.
“The Clergy Committee in February 2012 passed a proclamation to come together and pray for our community and our nation each year to bring our community together,” said Cicero Chaplain Ismael Vargas who leads the prayer vigil every year.
“We prayed for our government and our elected officials, our first responders, the community, and for families in need, for our youth and for our schools and education.”

12 churches from the Town’s Clergy Committee joined in the prayer event.
Attending were several officials including Cicero Clerk Maria Punzo-Arias, Trustees Victor Garcia and Blanca Vargas, and Cook County Commissioner Frank Aguilar.
“We are grateful to President Larry Dominick for the support he always provides to this event which is so important to our community,” Vargas added.
