Cicero Honors Veterans

Cicero Town President Larry Dominick and the Town Board of Trustees honored the many sacrifices of those who have served in America’s military during a special ceremony commemorating Veterans Day on November 11 at the Cicero Community Center.

The ceremony’s focus was not only on honoring our veterans who have served or are serving, but to also raise awareness of what we can do to show our support throughout the Town.

“A part of the way we can show our support for veterans and their families is through the Green Light Initiative,” Town President Larry Dominick said. “ The idea is to replace at least one light bulb in our homes with a green bulb to show support for veterans. With green being the color of hope and renewal, this effort is showing our hope for every soldier and sailor’s safe return.”

During the ceremony, attendees received green light bulbs to install in their homes, courtesy of the Town of Cicero.

“I think this is a great program – a small token of appreciation for the many sacrifices they have given to this nation, and I want to make sure everyone who wants to join me in this effort can,” Dominick said.
