Thanks to the Cicero Fire Department, a number of Cicero homes experienced a magical Christmas as they teamed up with Santa Clause to deliver special gifts for them just before the holiday.
Firefighters wrapped Christmas gifts for families struggling to make ends meet for a variety of reasons. The gifts were donated by area residents, as well as firefighters and others wanting to make the holiday brighter for the kids. Trading his sleigh for the day, Santa rode one of the fire engines throughout the town, delivering the packaged surprises to the families in time for the holiday.
“Just seeing the kids light up knowing they’ll have a wonderful Christmas was enough for all of us,” said Fire Chief Dominick Buscemi. “We are happy to do our part to make the holiday festive for as many Cicero residents as possible.”
