REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS (“RFP”)
FOR
THE TOWN OF CICERO

1. PURPOSE OF THE REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS

The Town of Cicero, Illinois (the “Town”) is located approximately seven (7) miles west of Chicago’s loop, and is bordered by Interstate 290 and Interstate 55. Interstate 290 intersects with Interstate 294 west of the Town, giving residents from Chicago’s southern and northern suburbs, along with visitors from Indiana and Wisconsin, easy access to the Town. The Town is also easily accessible from Chicago’s western suburbs via Interstate 88.

The Town is a home rule municipality, governed by a full-time Town President, a Town Clerk and a seven (7) member Board of Trustees. The current Town President is Larry Dominick who was reelected in 2017 to a four (4) year term ending in 2021.

The purpose of this RFP is to select one or more “Respondents” to provide the following goods and services to the Town for vehicles suitable for use in the Town’s vehicle towing operations:(1) One (1) Ford F-450 XLT 4×4 (or equivalent) Plus Wrecker And Accessories;

1. (2) One (1) Form F-450 4×4 Regular Cab (or equivalent) Plus Wrecker And Accessories; (3) One (1) Ford F-550 4×4 20’ Steel Flat Bed Truck (or equivalent) And Accessories (collectively, the “Vehicles”); and

   (4) Warranties on each Vehicle.

   (A) Two (2) dual winch towing vehicles with extendable wrecker boom with hydraulic integrated self-loading wheel lift on a Ford F-450 4×4 chassis (or equivalent) which should include the following standard features and accessories (or equivalent):

   • Manual drive & passenger side controls
   • Wired 8 function in-cab remote control
   • 1 pair of safety straps
   • Safety chains in rear pockets
   • Tailboard mounted d-rings
   • Power elevation
   • Power extension

   (B) One (1) 12,000 lb capacity. low profile bed with full length subframe with Nylotron pads on a Ford 650 2WD chassis (or equivalent) which should include the following standard features and accessories (or equivalent):

   • 12,000 lb. capacity steel deck
   • 2×2 Corten tube crossmembers on 8” centers
   • Floor level rolled formed sides with punched stake pockets
   • Right and left chain trays
   • Safety chains (2 front, 2 rear)

2. SCOPE OF GOODS AND SERVICES

Respondent shall provide pricing information and estimated delivery dates for the Town’s purchase of:

1. One (1) Ford F-450 XLT 4×4 (or equivalent) Plus Wrecker And Accessories;
2. One (1) Form F-450 4×4 Regular Cab (or equivalent) Plus Wrecker And Accessories;
3. One (1) Ford F-550 4×4 20’ Steel Flat Bed Truck (or equivalent) And Accessories; and
4. Warranties on each Vehicle.

The Town reserves the right to: (1) reject all proposals (the “Proposals”) submitted, in whole or in part and (2) in its sole and absolute discretion, to cancel or modify this RFP in whole or in part, without further notice.
