Cicero seniors enjoyed a beautiful summer day trip to Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, on Wednesday, August 12, spending the day enjoying good food, beautiful scenery and wonderful company during a special luncheon cruise aboard the Grand Belle.

The day started bright and early, with seniors gathering at the Cicero Public Safety Building at 7:15 a.m. before boarding a charter motorcoach for the trip to Lake Geneva. Upon arrival, Town President Larry Dominick was there to welcome the group and personally assist the seniors as they made their way off the motorcoach and began their day.

President Dominick said outings like this are an important part of making sure Cicero seniors have opportunities to enjoy themselves, stay connected and create lasting memories.

“Our seniors have always been an important part of the Cicero family, and they deserve to enjoy days like this,” said Town President Larry Dominick. “It was wonderful to see everyone arrive with such excitement and to be there to welcome them. These trips are about friendship, laughter and making memories together, and that is something we are always proud to support.”

First Lady Diana Dominick, Director of the Cicero Senior Center, also joined the seniors for the special outing, helping make sure the day was enjoyable for everyone.

“There is something very special about bringing our seniors together outside of the Senior Center and giving them the opportunity to enjoy a beautiful day together,” said First Lady Diana Dominick. “Today was filled with smiles, laughter, good conversation and wonderful memories. Seeing everyone enjoying themselves is exactly why we love putting these trips together.”

The group then set sail aboard the Grand Belle for a 2¼-hour luncheon cruise around Lake Geneva. The cruise offered seniors the chance to enjoy a sit-down meal while taking in the lake’s beautiful shoreline and learning about the area’s history through narration about historic estates and landmarks along the water.

For the Cicero seniors, however, the best part of the day was simply being together. From the early morning departure to the luncheon cruise and scenic views of Lake Geneva, the summer outing was filled with laughter, friendship and plenty of memories to take home.

The Town of Cicero and the Cicero Senior Center continue to provide opportunities for local seniors to get together, explore new places and enjoy fun experiences with friends and neighbors.

¡Todos a bordo! Los adultos mayores de Cicero disfrutan de un día de verano en Lake Geneva

Los adultos mayores de Cicero disfrutaron de un hermoso paseo de verano a Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, el miércoles 12 de agosto, pasando el día entre buena comida, hermosos paisajes y grata compañía durante un especial crucero con almuerzo a bordo del Grand Belle.

El día comenzó muy temprano, cuando los adultos mayores se reunieron a las 7:15 a.m. en el Edificio de Seguridad Pública de Cicero, antes de abordar un autobús turístico contratado para emprender el viaje hacia Lake Geneva. Al llegar, el Presidente del Municipio, Larry Dominick, estuvo presente para recibir al grupo y ayudar personalmente a los adultos mayores mientras bajaban del autobús y comenzaban su día.

El Presidente Dominick señaló que este tipo de paseos son una parte importante de brindarles a los adultos mayores de Cicero oportunidades para disfrutar, mantenerse conectados y crear recuerdos duraderos.

“Nuestros adultos mayores siempre han sido una parte muy importante de la familia de Cicero y merecen disfrutar de días como este,” dijo el Presidente del Municipio, Larry Dominick. “Fue maravilloso ver la emoción de todos al llegar y poder estar allí para recibirlos. Estos paseos se tratan de amistad, risas y de crear recuerdos juntos, y eso es algo que siempre nos enorgullece apoyar.”

La Primera Dama Diana Dominick, Directora del Centro para Adultos Mayores de Cicero, también acompañó al grupo durante este paseo especial, ayudando a asegurar que todos disfrutaran de un día agradable.

“Hay algo muy especial en reunir a nuestros adultos mayores fuera del Centro para Adultos Mayores y brindarles la oportunidad de disfrutar juntos de un hermoso día,” dijo la Primera Dama Diana Dominick. “Hoy estuvo lleno de sonrisas, risas, buena conversación y maravillosos recuerdos. Ver a todos disfrutando es precisamente la razón por la que nos encanta organizar estos paseos.”

Posteriormente, el grupo abordó el Grand Belle para disfrutar de un crucero de 2 horas y 15 minutos con almuerzo alrededor de Lake Geneva. Durante el recorrido, los adultos mayores disfrutaron de una comida servida en la mesa mientras admiraban las hermosas orillas del lago y conocían más sobre la historia de la zona a través de una narración sobre las históricas propiedades y lugares de interés a lo largo del lago.

Sin embargo, para los adultos mayores de Cicero, la mejor parte del día fue simplemente estar juntos. Desde la salida temprano por la mañana hasta el crucero con almuerzo y las hermosas vistas de Lake Geneva, el paseo de verano estuvo lleno de risas, amistad y muchos recuerdos para llevar a casa.
