What began as a special night of family fun at Cicero Community Park became an unforgettable surprise for hundreds of Cicero children when President Larry Dominick and First Lady Diana Dominick made an unexpected visit during the Town of Cicero’s Movie Night on Friday, September 11.
As families gathered at the park to enjoy an evening of entertainment, President Dominick surprised the community with a special wristband giveaway for children. The wristbands gave young residents the opportunity to enjoy the carnival rides free of charge throughout all four days of the Mexican Independence Festival.
The surprise brought excitement throughout the park, as children eagerly received their wristbands and families expressed their appreciation for the gesture.
“For me, the best part of any celebration is seeing our children smile,” said President Larry Dominick. “These moments are about creating memories for our families and making sure every child has the opportunity to enjoy the excitement of our community celebrations. I was happy to surprise our children and give them something special to look forward to throughout the festival.”
First Lady Diana Dominick shared in the joy of the evening and the gratitude expressed by families.
“Seeing the excitement on the children’s faces was truly heartwarming,” said First Lady Diana Dominick. “Our community is like a family, and when we can give our children a little extra happiness and create memories they will carry with them, that is something very special. We were so touched by the gratitude of our residents and thrilled to share this surprise with them.”
The surprise wristband giveaway added another memorable moment to an already festive evening, bringing families together and giving children another reason to celebrate.
The Town of Cicero’s Mexican Independence Festival is already underway, and residents are invited to continue celebrating throughout the weekend. The Mexican Independence Day Parade will take place Sunday, September 20, at 12:00 p.m. along Cermak Road, bringing music, culture and community pride to the streets of Cicero.
The celebration will continue Sunday evening with El Grito at 9:00 p.m., a special tradition commemorating Mexico’s independence.
Residents and families are encouraged to come out, celebrate together and enjoy the festival as Cicero continues its celebration of Mexican culture, heritage and community.
