After two long months of determination, courage, and rehabilitation, Cicero Police Officer Rey Ramos has been released from Shirley Ryan AbilityLab and is finally home.
Officer Ramos was seriously injured while serving and protecting our community during the pursuit of a burglary suspect. Since that day, he has faced every challenge with remarkable strength, resilience, and an unwavering fighting spirit.
Today, fellow officers proudly stood by his side, escorting him home and welcoming him back with the same support and brotherhood that have carried him through this journey.
A proud Cicero native and 10-year veteran of the Cicero Police Department, Officer Ramos was serving on the Special Operations Unit when the accident occurred. His dedication to our community has never wavered, and neither has the community’s support for him.
