Excitement filled the air in Cicero as town officials, residents, and supporters gathered to celebrate the grand opening of Cali Ve, a vibrant new restaurant owned by local residents Gilberto and Jennifer Quintero. Located at 3036 S. Laramie Avenue, Cali Ve promises not just delicious food—but a genuine reflection of family, culture, and community.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony brought together a host of community leaders. Business License Director Ismael Vargas opened the event, expressing joy over yet another grand opening that highlights the growth and entrepreneurial spirit within Cicero.

Town Assessor Emo Cundari echoed the sentiment, noting the double impact of having residents who are also business owners:

Trustees Victor Garcia, Bob Porod, and John Cava all took turns congratulating the owners, praising their dedication and encouraging the community to support the new local spot.
“I live just a few blocks away,” Trustee Cava said. “So you’ll probably see me here often!”
Following heartfelt words from elected officials, Ismael Vargas invited the group to the front of the restaurant for the official ribbon cutting. The crowd counted down—“1, 2, 3!”—and applause erupted as the ribbon fell and Cali Ve was declared officially open.
Owners Gilberto and Jennifer expressed their gratitude thanking town leaders and all attendees for their support.
