Cicero Fire Department Now Accepting Applications for Firefighter/Paramedic Positions

The Town of Cicero Fire Department is currently accepting applications for the position of Firefighter/Paramedic, offering a starting salary of $83,545.42. Residents and qualified candidates are encouraged to apply before the deadline on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, at 4:00 p.m.

Interested applicants must purchase and complete their application through IOSolutions.com and submit all required documentation by the deadline, either online, by hand, or by mail.

Minimum Requirements:

  • $35 non-refundable application fee
  • Must be a U.S. citizen
  • Ages 21 to 34 at time of appointment (some exceptions apply)
  • No felony convictions
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Valid driver’s license with good driving record
  • 20/20 corrected vision
  • Valid CPAT card with ladder climb (dated within 12 months of application deadline)
  • Valid Illinois Paramedic License at time of hire
  • Ability to pass additional exams and certifications, including:
    • Basic Operations Firefighter Certification
    • Loyola EMS System testing
    • Written exam and oral interview

Testing Information:

  • Written Examination and Mandatory Orientation:
    Saturday, August 2, 2025, at 9:00 a.m.
  • Oral Interviews:
    August 19 and 20, 2025
