On March 13, the Cicero Community Center was bursting with color, giggles, and springtime cheer as families gathered for the town’s annual Easter celebration. Though the skies outside were gray, the spirit inside was nothing short of magical.
At the heart of it all? The Easter Bunny himself—fluffy, friendly, and as photogenic as ever. Special Events Director Patty Salerno said it best: “The kids get so excited just going into that room and seeing him. They flock to that room like it’s the only place on earth!”
But the Bunny didn’t hop in alone. Beloved characters like Mickey, Minnie, Elmo, and Cookie Monster made surprise appearances, sending waves of joy through the crowd. From giggling toddlers to parents snapping photos, everyone was swept up in the fun.
Inside the Community Center, every corner was alive with something festive: vibrant arts and crafts stations, dazzling face painting, games galore, and famous bounce houses. The smell of fresh popcorn added to the carnival-like vibe, and everywhere you looked, there were smiles.
“The weather can be tricky this time of year,” Patty added. “But honestly, having it indoors just makes it all the more cozy and beautiful. You should see the line—it’s wrapped around the building!”
Thousands celebrated, making it one of Cicero’s most significant community events yet. Some were first-timers, like a lifelong Cicero resident who brought her sons, Max and Bill. “Honestly, it’s for my kids to enjoy,” she shared. “So they could remember what a good time they had—not just stuck at home.”
Another parent laughed about forgetting an Easter basket but was relieved that the line moved quickly. “We thought we were late, but we were inside and in the fun before we knew it!”
Young Auriyana Montenegro beamed with excitement as she stood near the Bunny. “I really enjoy these events because I get to spend more time with my family,” she said. “Larry Dominick always puts together something fun. It feels like every week there’s something new!”
Of course, there was the moment of bunny magic that had one little one in awe. “I thought the bunny wasn’t real until he moved!” a parent laughed, pointing at their daughter, who was absolutely enchanted.

¡Diversión a Saltos! La Celebración de Pascua en Cicero Encanta a las Familias

El 13 de marzo, el Centro Comunitario de Cicero se llenó de color, risas y alegría primaveral durante la celebración anual de Pascua del Municipio. Aunque el cielo estaba gris, el ambiente dentro del recinto fue pura magia.
¿El centro de atención? ¡El mismísimo Conejo de Pascua! Esponjoso, amigable y tan fotogénico como siempre. La Directora de Eventos Especiales, Patty Salerno, lo resumió perfectamente: “Los niños se emocionan tanto al entrar a ese cuarto y verlo. Corren hacia ahí como si fuera el único lugar en el mundo”.
Pero el Conejo no saltó solo. Personajes queridos como Mickey, Minnie, Elmo y el Monstruo de las Galletas hicieron apariciones sorpresa, desatando olas de alegría entre la multitud. Desde pequeños riendo hasta padres tomando fotos, todos se contagiaron del ambiente festivo.
Dentro del Centro Comunitario, cada rincón vibraba con actividades alegres: estaciones coloridas de manualidades, pintura facial brillante, muchísimos juegos y, por supuesto, los famosos castillos inflables. El aroma de palomitas de maíz recién hechas le dio un aire de feria al evento, y dondequiera que miraras, había sonrisas.
“El clima puede ser impredecible en esta época del año,” agregó Patty. “Pero sinceramente, hacerlo en interiores lo hace más acogedor y hermoso. ¡Deberías ver la fila—¡le da la vuelta al edificio!”
Miles de personas asistieron, convirtiéndolo en uno de los eventos comunitarios más grandes de Cicero hasta la fecha. Algunos asistieron por primera vez, como una residente de toda la vida que llevó a sus hijos Max y Bill. “Honestamente, es para que mis hijos se diviertan,” compartió. “Para que recuerden lo bien que la pasaron—y no solo estar atrapados en casa.”
Otro padre se rió al contar que se le olvidó llevar una canasta de Pascua, pero se alivió al ver que la fila avanzaba rápido. “Pensamos que llegamos tarde, ¡pero ya estábamos adentro y divirtiéndonos antes de darnos cuenta!”
La pequeña Auriyana Montenegro brillaba de emoción mientras se paraba cerca del Conejo. “Me encantan estos eventos porque puedo pasar más tiempo con mi familia,” dijo. “Larry Dominick siempre organiza algo divertido. ¡Siento que cada semana hay algo nuevo!”
Y por supuesto, hubo un momento mágico que dejó a una niña asombrada. “¡Pensé que el conejo no era real hasta que se movió!” contó entre risas una mamá, señalando a su hija completamente encantada.
