Dancing the night away: Cicero’s 17th Annual Daddy-Daughter Dance
The Town of Cicero celebrated a cherished tradition on February 7, 2025, as families gathered for the 17th annual Daddy-Daughter Dance at the Cicero Community Center. Organized by the Cicero Youth Commission and the Special Events Department, this beloved event, sponsored by President Larry Dominick and the Board of Trustees, continues to be one of the town’s most popular family gatherings.
It was a night to remember. With an overwhelming response, the event reached record attendance, hosting 660 guests who secured their spots within just two weeks of ticket sales opening. Cicero’s Director of Special Events, Patty Salerno, emphasized the effort put into making the night magical for all attendees.
“This is one of the town of Cicero’s most popular events for families. We sell out within two weeks. This year we’ve had a record number of attendees. We tried to accommodate as many as we could. President Dominick and the Board put their heart and soul into this event to make it a great family fun event,” Salerno said.
The evening was filled with music, dancing, dinner, desserts, raffles, and photo booth opportunities. Fathers and daughters dressed their best, creating unforgettable memories while enjoying quality time together.

For many families, the dance has become an annual tradition. David Arroyo, attending with his daughter Eliana for the third time, shared his appreciation for the town’s efforts. “I think just the quality time and everything the town puts together for us makes it special.”
Oscar and his daughter Aliyah also attended for the third time, with Oscar mentioning his joy in seeing the kids’ reactions when their favorite songs played. “Honestly, I like to give joy back to the kids. When we put on music, they have a great reaction. They start dancing—it’s the best feeling.”
For others, it was a first-time experience. Miguel Angel and his daughter Catalina were invited by a friend and looked forward to making new memories. Another newcomer, Dan, accompanied his daughter Melanie and eagerly anticipated their first dance together.
Grandfathers also took part in the special evening. David and his granddaughter Vicki looked forward to dancing and taking photos to commemorate the night. “We’re going to have a good time,” he said.
As the Daddy-Daughter Dance came to a close, with yet another successful Daddy-Daughter Dance in the books, Cicero continues to foster a strong sense of community through events that bring families together. As attendees danced the night away, laughter and joy filled the Cicero Community Center, making for an unforgettable evening of love, laughter, and lasting memories.
Bailando toda la noche: El 17º Baile Anual de Papá e Hija en Cicero
El Municipio de Cicero celebró una tradición apreciada el 7 de febrero de 2025, cuando las familias se reunieron para el 17º Baile Anual de Papá e Hija en el Centro Comunitario de Cicero. Organizado por la Comisión Juvenil de Cicero y el Departamento de Eventos Especiales, este querido evento, patrocinado por el Presidente Larry Dominick y la Junta Directiva, sigue siendo una de las reuniones familiares más populares del municipio.
Una noche para recordar. Con una respuesta abrumadora, el evento alcanzó un número récord de asistentes, con 660 invitados que aseguraron su lugar en solo dos semanas tras la apertura de la venta de boletos. Patty Salerno, directora de Eventos Especiales de Cicero, destacó el esfuerzo realizado para hacer de la noche una experiencia mágica para todos los asistentes.
“Este es uno de los eventos más populares para las familias en el Municipio de Cicero. Se agotan las entradas en dos semanas. Este año hemos tenido un número récord de asistentes. Tratamos de acomodar a la mayor cantidad posible. El Presidente Dominick y la Junta Directiva ponen todo su corazón y alma en este evento para hacerlo una experiencia divertida para las familias”, dijo Salerno.
La velada estuvo llena de música, baile, cena, postres, rifas y oportunidades para tomarse fotos . Padres e hijas se vistieron con sus mejores atuendos, creando recuerdos inolvidables mientras disfrutaban de un momento especial juntos.
Para muchas familias, el baile se ha convertido en una tradición anual. David Arroyo, quien asistió con su hija Eliana por tercera vez, expresó su agradecimiento por los esfuerzos del municipio. “Creo que el tiempo de calidad y todo lo que el municipio organiza para nosotros lo hace especial.”
Oscar y su hija Aliyah también asistieron por tercera vez. Oscar mencionó su alegría al ver la reacción de los niños cuando sonaban sus canciones favoritas. “Honestamente, me gusta brindar alegría a los niños. Cuando ponemos música, tienen una gran reacción. Comienzan a bailar—es la mejor sensación.”
Para otros, fue una experiencia completamente nueva. Miguel Ángel y su hija Catalina fueron invitados por un amigo y esperaban con emoción crear nuevos recuerdos. Otro asistente por primera vez, Dan, acompañó a su hija Melanie y esperaba con ansias su primer baile juntos.
Los abuelos también participaron en la noche especial. David y su nieta Vicki estaban emocionados por bailar y tomarse fotos para conmemorar la noche. “Nos la vamos a pasar muy bien”, comentó.
Al cerrar otra exitosa edición del Baile de Papá e Hija, Cicero sigue fortaleciendo el sentido de comunidad a través de eventos que unen a las familias.
