The Cicero Town Board tapped lifelong resident John Cava as the next trustee. Filling the seat left vacant by Dennis Raleigh’s retirement, Cava will serve the remainder of the term.
“John has been a hard-working civil servant who has helped transform this town through his years of service helping in many ways,” said Town President Larry Dominick. “I know he will make an excellent addition to the board and will represent the voters’ interests effectively.”
A lifelong resident of Cicero, Cava has been working at Cicero East school, across the street from the Community Center, for 27 of his 35 years with District 99 and has been instrumental in his work with various programs and services in the Town prior to his appointment. He served on the Cicero Library Board for six years.
“I am excited to join the board and continue working to help the town and its residents in any way possible,” Cava said.
Cava and his wife, Alice, have three children, Travis, Tiffany and Eugenia, and four grandchildren.
