CYC Holiday Festival Fills Community Center with Cheer

It did not take long for the line to snake through the Cicero Community Center on Dec. 2. That’s what happens when Santa and Mrs. Claus make their annual visit to Cicero Youth Commission’s Holiday Festival. As they arrived to take their seats on stage to pose for photos, young children excitedly waited in line for their chance to tell Kris Kringle what they wanted for Christmas.

After the photo with Santa and Mrs. Claus, each child received gifts courtesy of Town President Larry Dominick. They were also able to participate in a variety of arts and crafts while listening to holiday music and preparing for Christmas day.

“We want to make sure every child in town has a chance to celebrate the holidays,” said Patricia Dominick, CYC director.

Town President Larry Dominick said it was a real joy to provide the gifts for the kids at the annual event.

“One of the greatest honors I have as town president is to make sure our kids are safe and happy,” Dominick said. “I take great pride that we hold events like these to put a smile on their faces and add happiness to their Christmas.”
