There were not a lot of ghosts, but visits by Batwoman, Captain America, Jack Skellington, Super Girl, and many other costumed characters filled Cicero’s Community Center for the Cicero Youth Commission’s annual Halloween Party. The Oct. 26 celebration featured hundreds of kids and parents, all decked out in their best costumes, to celebrating the holiday with face paintings, arts and crafts, games, music, prizes and other spooky fun.
“Halloween was one of my favorite holidays as a kid,” said CYC Director Patricia Dominick. “We really enjoy having so many kids come out in a safe and fun environment to show off their costumes, play a few games and have fun with their friends.”
The event, co-hosted by CYC and Town President Larry Dominick, is part of CYC’s annual holiday events that continue with the Holiday Party on Dec. 2, featuring a special visit by Santa and Mrs. Claus.
“President Dominick’s goal is to find ways to keep kids off the streets and do their best in school,” Patricia Dominick said. “These celebrations are a wonderful foundation to ensure our children stay safe and still have a great deal of fun.
