Town President Larry Dominick and the Office of Senior Activities invited all of Cicero’s senior residents to a trip across the Wisconsin border to visit pristine Lake Geneva. The August 28 venture involved a boat ride on the lake, a catered lunch, and a chance to do a little shopping.
“We went on a two-hour boat ride on a lovely boat all around the whole Lake of Geneva and enjoyed a sit-down dinner on the boat,” said Marilyn Counihan, one of the many seniors who joined Dominick and the rest of the group on the two-hour drive up North-West Highway to Lake Geneva. “After we get off the boat we’re going shopping to all the cute little shops they have all over town.”
Reservations fill up fast for the senior trips, which are usually capped based upon available transportation. The Senior Center sponsors trips to places such as the Horseshoe Casino in Indiana, the Premium Outlets in Aurora, and other areas of interest. This month’s trips include visits to Four Winds Casino and the Chicago Jewelry Show. Seniors who would like to reserve their space should call Diana Dominick at 708-222-8690.
