Cicero Christmas Celebrations Start with Christmas in the Park

Cicero residents started spreading Christmas cheer early this year as hundreds gathered at Community Park for the annual Christmas in the Park celebration.

Held annually the Sunday after Thanksgiving (Nov. 25 this year), the event included festive music, performances by Elvis and others, food, and lots of fun. As has been the tradition for several years, the event also marked the official start of ice skating season in Cicero as the Bobby Hull Community Ice Rink opened up for everyone to enjoy.

“I cannot get enough of the smiling faces, children’s laughter, and the number of residents who make this annual celebration a part of their Christmas tradition,” said Town President Larry Dominick.

Joining Dominick for this year’s events were Town Clerk Maria Punzo-Arias, Supervisor Joe Virruso, Assessor Emilio “Emo” Cundari, Collector Fran Reitz and trustees Victor Garcia, John Cava, Bob Porod and Larry Banks.
