Editors and staff members of Cicero’s community news media will participate in a panel discussion about local news coverage and share their experiences with local businesses during a panel discussion presented by the Cicero Chamber of Commerce on Feb. 26 at 5pm at the Cicero Community Center.
Come and meet the representatives of the local community news media and learn how you can communicate with them to strengthen your business. Find out what the news media is interested in and how you can provide information and photographs to appear in their newspaper and magazine publications.
The chamber has invited each newspaper and magazine in the community to send a representative to participate on the panel to help the chamber business members understand communications and media services.
Come and ask questions, such as: how do you get your business in the newspaper; what kind of photos do they want; what constitutes a story that they would be interested in reporting; what are advertising costs and displays and ways to promote your businesses positively; why is social media important?

Business License Director and Cicero Chaplain Ismael Vargas will also be present to answer questions about Cicero’s business requirements and needs.
Providing media and communications services to our members is a critical priority in the coming year, and we anticipate hosting several programs to help business members learn how to work with the local news media to promote their businesses.
The Cicero Chamber, along with Town President Larry Dominick, is also co-hosting a Job Fair on Tuesday, March 31, from 10am-3pm at the Cicero Community Center. Businesses are invited to participate by showcasing their needs, and members of the public are invited to attend and submit their resumes for jobs.
