Cicero’s latest restaurant debut featured a new concept with an established tradition. Hooters, the national chain of restaurants featuring waitresses wearing revealing outfits, opened its first “fast-casual” restaraunt in town on Feb. 13.
Called “Hoots,” the new concept operates with a slimmed-down menu focused on the brand’s famous chicken wings and without the skimpy outfits. Located at the corner of Cermak and Cicero, customers order at the counter instead of the table and will be served by men and women.
“This is a great way to add a well-known brand into the town while keeping the family-friendly atmosphere Cicero residents have grown to expect and enjoy,” said Town President Larry Dominick.
Hoots is currently running as a test establishment, but with the crowds lining up to order chicken wings and sandwiches as well as shrimp, fries, tater tots, onion rings, and even snow crab legs.
Present for the ribbon cutting were Town Assessor Emilio “Emo” Cundari, Town Collector Fran Reitz, Town Trustee Dennis Raleigh.
