Father-Daughter Dance Delights Cicero Community Center

Cicero celebrated dads and their girls just before Valentine’s Day as the town’s 10th Annual Father-Daughter Dance resulted in a packed Community Center. Hosted by Larry Dominick and sponsored by the Cicero Youth Commission, the yearly tradition of fathers treating their daughters to a night out has a firm place as a February tradition for the community.

“You can tell how proud these dads are taking their princesses out to dinner and dancing,” said Town President Larry Dominick. “But more importantly, it reinforces the vital role fathers have in raising their children. No matter if it is a son or daughter, being a dad is an extremly important job.”

Each girl receives a corsage, a special photo with their fathers, slow and fast music for dancing, dinner and other entertainment to create a special night. Wayne Porod, director of the CYC, said the Father-Daughter dance is one of the biggest and most successful events for the commission.

“Everyone with the CYC and the Community Center takes great joy in making sure our kids have a wonderful time at our events,” Porod said. “To see so much happiness tonight is a true reward.”
