The Cicero Youth Commission ensured Cicero families had one last summer bash with its annual Hawaiian Luau Family Dance. Held on Aug. 11, the dinner and dance brought residents to the Community Center to enjoy delicious food and family fun before school started back up and the weather turned cooler.
“It did not take long for this to become a welcome tradition for our families,” said Patti Dominick, director of CYC. “They enjoy having one last party before the kids return to school and schedules change.”
Residents were transported to a land with tropical flora, leis and other Hawaiian-like decorations in the center’s gym, where live music, fun food and plenty of activities awaited.
“Families enjoying events as a unit is important to ensure our town succeeds,” said Town President Larry Dominick. “I am glad everyone could come out and have a great time at the luau and hope we will see even more families arrive next year.”
A raffle was also held at the end to give away a variety of items, all courtesy of President Dominick.
