Cicero Board Affirms Minimum Wage Mandate from April Election

The Cicero Board of Trustees voted to affirm the mandate given by Cicero residents to opt out of the Cook County ordinance that imposed a higher-than-statewide minimum wage on local business. The unanimous June 13 decision by the board reflects the 58 percent support to opt out of the ordinance during the April 4 election. The town still adheres to Illinois and federal minimum wage laws.
